FAQs
Questions? We’ve got you covered.
What is Ask Fathom?
Ask Fathom is the AI assistant built into Fathom that answers questions about your meetings. Type a question in plain language, like “What did this customer say about pricing?”, and Ask Fathom answers from your meeting titles, summaries, transcripts, and attendees. Ask about a single call, or search across your meetings, your team’s calls, or your whole organization.
Is Ask Fathom free?
Yes. On Fathom’s free plan, Ask Fathom searches your last two weeks of calls. Premium opens your full meeting history. Team adds Team Calls with a two-week lookback, and Business covers your full history across My Calls and Team Calls. See Fathom pricing for current plan details.
What kinds of questions can I ask Fathom?
Ask anything you’d ask a colleague who sat in on every call. Common prompts include “What objections came up in this week’s calls?”, “What did I commit to this week?”, “Which features are customers requesting most?”, and “Recap the decisions from meetings I missed.” Saved prompts for Sales, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Executives give every role a starting point.
Can Ask Fathom search across all my meetings, or only one?
Both. Open Ask Fathom inside any recording to question that single call. Open it from My Calls or Team Calls to ask across your full meeting library at once, surfacing action items, decisions, risks, and recurring themes. Account-wide Ask Fathom is currently in beta.
How is Ask Fathom different from AI Search?
Ask Fathom gives you answers. AI Search finds moments. Ask Fathom reads across your calls and returns a written answer. AI Search returns the specific call moments that match your query, and on Team and Business plans you can save any search as a Tracker to get notified when that topic comes up in future calls.
Can I use my Fathom meetings in ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes. Fathom’s MCP integration, available on every plan, brings your meeting context into ChatGPT and Claude so you can draft follow-up emails, QBR narratives, and briefs alongside the rest of your work. Use Ask Fathom for answers inside Fathom, and MCP to build deliverables in your AI assistant.
Is my meeting data secure when I use Ask Fathom?
Yes. Fathom is SOC 2 Type II audited, HIPAA compliant, and GDPR-aligned. Ask Fathom only searches meetings you already have access to, so every answer respects your team’s sharing settings. See trust.fathom.video for full security details.
Can Ask Fathom translate a meeting transcript?
Yes. Fathom transcribes and summarizes in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, and Portuguese, and Ask Fathom can translate transcripts into 29 additional languages, so you can follow a call your global team held in a language you don’t speak.
