REQUEST A MISSION

Tell us the meeting and what should happen after it. More detail means a sharper flight plan.

Request a mission

What it does

This mission builds a strategic account plan from an account's full call history. ChatGPT or Claude pulls every Fathom meeting with the account, adds what's in your CRM and fills in an account plan template: the stakeholder map, each person's priorities, the pains they've described, buying signals, risks and recommended next steps.

Run it again after each new call and the plan stays current, so QBR or renewal prep starts from a living document instead of a blank one.

Who it's for

Account executives, account managers and RevOps teams who manage strategic accounts and keep rebuilding the same plan from scattered notes.

The flight plan

Run it before every QBR, renewal or account review, and after major calls. For a lighter version you can keep for every client, see the customer 360 mission.

  1. Connect Fathom and your CRM to ChatGPT or Claude.
  2. Run the starter prompt for one account.
  3. Check the stakeholder map against what you know and fill any gaps.
  4. Save the plan where your team can see it.
  5. Run it again after each important call to keep it current.

RULES

Use every meeting with the account, not only the latest.

Tie each pain point and signal to the call and person it came from.

Separate what the customer said from what the AI infers.

Flag stakeholders who've gone quiet.

Keep the plan to one page of decisions, not a summary of every call.

What good looks like

A good plan tells you who matters, what they care about and what to do next. A mediocre one restates the account's company profile.

GOOD

"Economic buyer: Priya (VP Ops). Top priority: cutting onboarding time before Q2 hiring. On the March call: 'If this doesn't scale with headcount, it's out.' Risk: no contact with her since April. Next step: book a 30-minute review with Priya before renewal."

MEDIOCRE

"Acme is a 500-person logistics company. Key contacts: various. Next steps: keep building the relationship."

STARTER PROMPT

⧉ Copy

Use Fathom to find every meeting with [account] and read the transcripts. Pull in what you can see about the account from [CRM].

Build an account plan with these sections: stakeholders (name, role, priorities, last contact), pains they've described in their own words, buying signals and risks, open commitments from both sides, and three recommended next steps.

Cite the meeting and date for each point. Mark anything you're inferring rather than quoting.

FAQs

Questions? We’ve got you covered.

How do I build a strategic account plan?

Start with everything the account has told you. Pull the full meeting history and CRM record, map the stakeholders and their priorities, list the pains and signals they've raised, then agree on next steps. AI connected to Fathom can draft that plan from every call in minutes.

What should an account plan template include?

At minimum: a stakeholder map, each person's priorities, the account's goals and pains, risks, open commitments and next steps. Tie each point to where you heard it so the plan stays trustworthy.

Which Fathom plan do I need to run this skill in ChatGPT or Claude?

Any Fathom plan, including Free. The skill reads your calls through Fathom's MCP integration with ChatGPT and Claude, which is on every plan.

What is strategic account planning?

Strategic account planning is the process of mapping a key customer's stakeholders, goals and risks to decide how to keep and grow the account. The plan guides QBRs, renewals and expansion conversations.
