MISSION

B2B content ideas pulled from your customers' own words

Your customers already told you what they struggle with, what they want and how they say it. This mission turns that into a backlog of content ideas in their words.

REQUEST A MISSION

Tell us the meeting and what should happen after it. More detail means a sharper flight plan.

Request a mission

What it does

This mission reads a batch of customer and prospect calls and pulls out the pain points, goals and questions that come up again and again, in the exact words people used. It groups them into themes and turns each theme into B2B content ideas: blog posts, LinkedIn posts, webinar topics and email subject lines.

Every idea comes with the quotes behind it, so your content starts from what customers said, not what the team assumes they care about.

Who it's for

Content marketers and founders who run short on ideas or keep writing about what the team finds interesting. If your sales and success teams capture their calls in Fathom, the best research for your content calendar is already there.

The flight plan

Run it once a month across that month's customer calls, then add the best ideas to your content calendar.

  1. Connect Fathom to ChatGPT or Claude.
  2. Run the starter prompt on last month's external calls.
  3. Review the themes and cut anything that came up only once.
  4. Pick ideas for each channel and keep the quotes for whoever writes the piece.
  5. Run it again next month and note which themes keep growing.

RULES

Count how often a theme comes up. One mention isn't a theme.

Keep the customer's exact words next to every idea.

Separate pain points, goals and questions. They lead to different content.

Leave out names and anything confidential.

Skip ideas your team can't answer with real expertise.

What good looks like

A good backlog reads like a list of your customers' questions, with proof each one is common. A mediocre one is a list of topics anyone in your industry could write.

GOOD

"Theme: forecasting feels like guesswork (came up on several calls this month). Quote: 'I'm basically guessing on Friday what closes next week.' Idea: How sales leaders replace gut-feel forecasts with evidence from their calls."

MEDIOCRE

"Write a blog post about sales forecasting best practices."

STARTER PROMPT

⧉ Copy

Use Fathom to pull my external customer and prospect calls from the last 30 days. Read the transcripts and list the pain points, goals and questions customers raise, in their exact words.

Group them into themes. For each theme, tell me how many calls it came up on, give two or three direct quotes and suggest three content ideas: one blog post, one LinkedIn post and one email subject line. Leave out customer names and companies. Rank the themes by how often they came up.

FAQs

Questions? We’ve got you covered.

How do I find B2B content ideas from customer calls?

Read a month of customer and prospect calls for the problems, goals and questions that keep coming up, and turn the most common ones into topics. Connecting Fathom to ChatGPT or Claude lets AI do the reading and return each theme with quotes and suggested ideas.

Why use customer calls instead of keyword research for content ideas?

Use both. Keyword research shows what people search for, and calls show why they care and the words they use. Ideas that show up in both are the strongest place to start.

Which Fathom plan do I need to run this skill in ChatGPT or Claude?

Any Fathom plan, including Free. The skill reads your calls through Fathom's MCP integration with ChatGPT and Claude, which is on every plan.

What are B2B content ideas?

B2B content ideas are topics for blog posts, social posts, webinars and emails aimed at business buyers. The strongest ones answer questions your buyers already ask on sales and customer calls.
