MISSION

A daily meeting recap email of decisions, owners and follow-ups

A day of meetings leaves a trail of decisions and promises that are easy to lose. This mission sends a recap email each evening that separates what was decided from what was only discussed.

Request a mission

What it does

This mission writes a meeting recap email for your whole day. Each evening, ChatGPT or Claude pulls the day's meetings through Fathom and sorts what was said into decisions and ideas that were only floated. Every action gets an owner and a date, and each meeting gets a follow-up email drafted for you to review in the morning.

On Fridays, it reviews the week: actions that are overdue and topics that came up more than once without a decision. You start Monday knowing what's stuck.

Who it's for

Founders and executives who spend most of the day in meetings and need one place to see what they committed to.

The flight plan

Schedule it for the end of each workday and a second run on Friday afternoon. If your AI assistant doesn't support scheduled tasks, run the prompt yourself.

  1. Connect Fathom and your email to ChatGPT or Claude.
  2. Run the daily starter prompt at the end of the day.
  3. Review the recap and follow-up drafts the next morning before your first meeting.
  4. Schedule the Friday review with the second paragraph of the prompt.
  5. For meetings that need a task hand-off, pair it with the meeting notes automation mission.

RULES

Separate decisions from ideas, and label which is which.

Give every action one owner and a date.

Mark an action as unassigned rather than guess an owner.

Keep the recap to one screen.

In the Friday review, list topics raised twice or more without a decision.

What good looks like

A good recap tells you what you owe people tomorrow. A mediocre one summarizes every meeting in order.

GOOD

"Decided: ship pricing page Nov 12. Idea only: annual discount (no decision). Actions: Ana sends final copy by Nov 8. You: approve design by Nov 9. Unassigned: legal review of terms. 2 follow-up drafts ready."

MEDIOCRE

"9am: marketing sync. Discussed pricing page. 11am: product review. Talked about roadmap. 2pm: investor call."

STARTER PROMPT

⧉ Copy

Use Fathom to find all of my meetings from today. Sort what was said into decisions and ideas that were discussed but not decided. List every action item with one owner and a due date, and mark any without an owner as unassigned. Draft a short follow-up email for each external meeting. Send it all to me as one recap email.

On Fridays, also review this week's meetings: list actions that are past due and any topic raised in two or more meetings without a decision.

FAQs

Questions? We’ve got you covered.

How do I get a daily recap of my meetings?

Connect Fathom to ChatGPT or Claude and schedule a prompt that runs at the end of each day. It pulls the day's meetings and writes one recap with decisions, owners and draft follow-ups.

How is this different from Fathom's meeting summaries?

Fathom summarizes each meeting on its own. This recap looks across the whole day, separates decisions from ideas and adds a weekly review of what's overdue or undecided.

Which Fathom plan do I need to run this skill in ChatGPT or Claude?

Any Fathom plan, including Free. The skill reads your calls through Fathom's MCP integration with ChatGPT and Claude, which is on every plan.

What is a meeting recap email?

A meeting recap email is a short message that sums up what was decided, who owns each next step and when it's due. A daily recap email does the same across all of your meetings for the day.
